Balsa Tree
Balsa trees grow in the humid and rainy forests of South America, for example, a country like Ecuador contributes significantly to the production of balsa wood in the world. Balsa trees grow very quickly and are ready to be cut within 6 to 10 years, reaching a height of about 30 meters and a diameter of more than one meter. If the tree lives longer than this, its wood will harden and less of it will be usable. Depending on which part of the tree and from what depth the balsa wood is cut, it will have a variable specific gravity. In general, the lighter the color of the balsa wood, the lower the specific gravity and the hollower it will be, and the darker the pieces will have greater density and hardness. In general, many balsa woods on the market have a combination of these properties, and it is practically very difficult to distinguish between wood that is completely soft or hard.

Balsa Filter
This type of filter has a system that uses the natural properties of balsa wood. This filter will absorb moisture and impurities in tobacco smoke without using any chemicals, thus ensuring that the mouthpiece of the pipe remains clean. This property is due to the presence of highly porous fibers of balsa wood, which will increase the quality of the resulting smoke without any change in the taste and flavor of tobacco. This type of filter has been tested by centers such as the EURATOM Research Center and the American Chemical and Environmental Research Center, which had similar results. For example, the American research center states in this regard: “The balsa filter is capable of absorbing 77 percent of nicotine and 91 percent of the “tar” in tobacco without changing its taste…”
The balsa filter has a simple structure and is easy to use.

Major distribution of balsa filters: A filter suitable for pipes, and importantly, it is a type of vegetable fiber, harmless and natural, and has the highest level of nicotine absorption.
