It is made in the Cazadores size, a 6 3/8-inch-long Lonsdale with a slim 44-gauge ring. It comes in two different wrappers, either dark, broadleaf Connecticut or Mexican San Andres. The rest of the tobacco is from Nicaragua.
Each comes in 10-pack wooden boxes with a sliding lid for a suggested retail price of $11 per cigar.
La Riqueza
was created by Tatuaje brand owner Pete Johnson
and cigar maker Jose “Pepin” Garcia in 2008. At the time, it was the first time Garcia or Johnson had made a broadleaf Connecticut cigar. “I’ve wanted to do broadleaf since I started Tatuaje,” Johnson said at the time. The brand remained in regular production until 2017 when Tatuaje stopped making it for a while to pursue other projects. Now,
La Riqueza
appears in limited editions. (The last one was in 2022). These cigars are produced by My Father Cigars in Esteli, Nicaragua, long-time partners of Tatuaje, and this particular production is limited to 3,000 boxes, 1,500 of each wrapper.
