Cigar Storage Case
Cigar Storage Case (Humidor), with Cedar Wood and Leather
Leather Cases:
Using these types of cases depends a lot on your taste or, better yet, your sense of smell!
High-quality leather can be free of leather odor, but note that in most cases, leather used comes from countries such as India, Pakistan, and China.
If you only store cigarettes in these leather cases for a few hours, there will probably be no change in the cigarette, but if this time is increased to a few days, your cigarette will most likely smell like leather instead of tobacco.
So when buying these types of cases, try to buy samples that have the least amount of leather odor and rely only on your sense of smell in this process.
Leather also absorbs moisture, so it can dry out the cigar. Unlike wooden cases, they cannot be stored in a humidor, as the moisture in the humidor will increase the unpleasant odor in them. Some leather cases are lined with Spanish cedar, which may be useful in improving their moisture performance, but it makes them thick and rough, making them difficult to transport and handle.
