Why use filter pipes and how much will the filter reduce nicotine and tar?
Currently, Europe requires all pipe manufacturers to produce pipes with filters, except for a limited number of pipes. This law has been in effect for several years.
You may also be interested to know what is inside these filters and how they work. Most of your filter is made of charcoal (carbon) and another part is silica gel. Professor Traub has done a lot of research on this topic. Understanding what we perceive as smoke is particles in water vapor that are formed by burning tobacco with hundreds of other particles. A large part of this drop is made up of tar and sediment, which also contains nicotine. To remove and reduce these materials without changing the taste of tobacco, special silica gel from Denicotia is used. The use of silica gel causes the nicotine and harmful substances to become concentrated, which remain in the filter and do not pass through it. The saturation level of silica gel is high, and it is possible to see and change its color in glass filters. In addition to pipe filters, this company also produces cigarette sticks equipped with 100% silica gel. Therefore, this company recommends that all people who want to use pipes or cigarettes use this company’s silica gel filters. (This company is under the supervision of the European Union Ministry of Health and its products are sold in all European countries and its history dates back to 1932.)
Today, the filters available on the market are divided into three main groups:
Pass Through Filters
Absorptive Filters
Condenser Filters
Pass Through Pipe Filter:
This group includes 9 and 6 mm ceramic filters (single or double ceramic) containing activated carbon and crystal filters containing silica crystals and special ring filters for Falcon pipes.
The effect of this group of filters is more on the suspended and partially visible particles present in the smoke resulting from the burning of tobacco.
In this way, as the smoke passes through these filters, each of which contains its own special materials, some of the suspended particles and ash and some of the nicotine present in the smoke are absorbed.
This filtering effect can have a positive effect on the health of those who mistakenly inhale the smoke into their lungs, but for those who do not inhale the smoke, it only reduces the taste of the tobacco and perhaps reduces the moisture content to some extent.
Given that there has not yet been a scientific and detailed study on the effect of filters on the health of pipe smokers, based on the available evidence and personal experiences, there is no clear and obvious difference in the health of those who use filters when smoking a pipe and those who do not.
Another point worth considering is that the use of through-pass filters, due to the way they work, causes a noticeable decrease in the taste and to some extent the nicotine in the pipe smoke, and this can be a reason for the consumer’s needs not being met, both physically and mentally, and can be a factor in increasing the number of times they smoke, which in turn increases the risk to individual health.
